Switchboard is $399 once. It runs on your own server, connects your own numbers, and keeps every message in your own database.

What you get

→ Unlimited numbers. Link by QR or pairing code. No per-seat fee, no per-message fee.

→ Live team inbox. Text, image, video, voice, document, poll, location, contact card, buttons and lists. Reply, edit, delete, react, star, pin, forward. Real delivery ticks over websockets.

→ Contacts. Sync, search, block, CSV import and export, "is this number on WhatsApp" lookup, LID resolution.

→ Groups. Create, join, manage participants, promote and demote, invite links, join requests, all four security settings.

→ Campaigns. Paced bulk sending with merge fields, scheduling, pause and resume, and a per-recipient delivery report. Randomised delays and batch pauses ship on by default.

→ Auto-reply bot. Ordered rules with keyword or regex matching, working hours, cooldowns and a dry-run tester.

→ Channels, labels and status. Post to channels, label and filter chats, publish text, image, video and voice stories.

→ Your own REST API. 31 token-authenticated endpoints so your CRM, your n8n flows or your Laravel app can drive WhatsApp directly.

→ Event log. Every webhook, searchable and replayable.

Here's how it works

WAHA holds the WhatsApp connection and exposes it over HTTP. Switchboard is everything around it: the inbox, the database, the campaign engine, the bot, staff logins and the API.

Every documented WAHA endpoint is wrapped in a typed resource class. Every documented webhook event has a handler. Nothing is left as "call the API yourself."

Requirements

→ A Linux VPS with 2 GB RAM and Docker. A $6 box runs it → MySQL 8 or MariaDB 10.4+, Redis 7 → A domain with TLS for the webhook callback → WAHA, which is free since version 2026.6.1

Your licence

$399 buys one production server for one business, yours or a single client's. Staging and development copies are free. You get the complete source and you can modify it however you like.

Twelve months of updates and email support are included. After that it keeps working. Only further updates need a renewal.

Reselling it, publishing the source or shipping it as your own product is the one thing the licence does not allow.

How it is implemented

→ It is single-tenant. One install serves one company.
→ It drives WhatsApp Web through WAHA. This is not the official Business Cloud API, so there are no per-message fees and no template approvals, and also no official support from Meta
→ WhatsApp restricts numbers that behave like spammers. The pacing defaults exist for that reason. Campaigns stop themselves when a restriction is detected

FAQ

Can I use it for client work? One licence covers one client's server. Buy one per deployment.

Do I need WAHA Plus? No. The full-featured Core image has been free since 2026.6.1.

How many numbers can I connect? As many as your server handles. There is no limit in the software.

Can I white-label it? You have the source, so yes, for your own install. Redistribution still needs a separate agreement.

Is there a refund? [Set your own policy here. For a source download the usual answer is no refunds once downloaded, which is why the "what it does not do" section above exists.]

Does it work with the official WhatsApp Business API? No. It drives WhatsApp Web.
